Our Story

Lee Whiting, Stuart Morton, and Doug Morrison
Picture
Lee Whiting was always hardworking & was born to be an entrepreneur.  His love of motor sports, of all kinds, began seriously in 1999, when he became an East Coast rep for Klim (at that time just a snowmobile clothing & accessory company) and his journey exploded from there.  Following his success with helping introduce Klim, he partnered with his friend to start ATE Motorsports in 1999 selling Arctic Cat and then Ski Doo snowmobiles-- and his success continued.

Then fate dealt him a tragic blow with a diagnosis of cancer in the Winter of 2003.   With support of family and friends, he met his diagnosis with a positive, no-nonsense attitude. After an arduous battle, cancer lost, and he beat it into submission.  During this time, he somehow managed to maintain, and grow his Pepperidge Farm Biscuit franchise.

In 2007, he sold his successful route so he could give 100% of his energy to Deep River Snacks, a company he joined in 2005. Lee went on to become a partner in the company as VP of DSD sales, helping build the company to an international standing.  Deep River Snacks’ success grew exponentially, ultimately leading to the worlds 3rd largest Coca Cola bottler, ARCA Continental, buying Deep River Snacks in 2017.  Lee remains on as VP of Business Development/Deep River Snacks Division for ARCA.

In his spare time, living in Andover, Vermont, Lee continues his passion for motor sports.  He is an avid collector of vintage and one-off BMW’s & Penton motorcycles, as well as the highly collectible ISDT motorcycles, favored by the movie actor Steve McQueen, who was heavily involved with these incredible history-heavy machines.

Stuart Morton has been in love and deeply involved with Porsche cars for over 40 years, specializing in the 911 model, on which his work is primarily focused.  Starting in the U.K. where he was born, and in the U.S. since 1985, Stuart is widely respected for his vast knowledge and understated approach. He has been hired and flown all over the U.S. and Europe to work on various Porsche cars owned by folks who share his appreciation for the automobile that has such an extensive legacy of excellence.

Morton Competition has two locations - the flagship shop in Stamford, CT, and in the last few years Stuart opened Morton Competition North here in Andover, VT, where he performs the basic servicing care all the way through-- from full race prep and total restoration work.  Stuart’s customers are a testament to his knowledge, many of whom have been entrusting their many cars to his care since 1985.

Word is spreading that Andover, Vermont is the home of one of the most renowned Porsche experts in the field, servicing all Porsche needs not only to Vermont and Connecticut residents, but to all the surrounding areas such as New Hampshire, upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Canada.

Doug Morrison, local resident of Chester, Vermont is a long time collector/restorer/racer of BMW motorcycles.  He has been an avid off-road rider for over 48 years, involved in NETRA, and dedicated to preserving the sport in New England.  Doug has a long time affiliation with MAX BMW and continues to promote the sport and the heritage restoration branch of the company.  His collection includes some of the rarest BMW's from years of hunting the brand.  He is the Field Marshall of Wheels in the Field, having designed and constructing the course, ride layout, and flow for the days competition.
